That was the first year in 25 years that a Beach school won a state championship--Back-to-Back! We won the Beach District Championship three years in a row. And who could forget our favorite cheer? "Take your hat, your coat, and L E A V E!"
Our slogan for the year was "Reaching for Greater Heights". Didn't that sign cause some controversy?
Dewey Salter and Nicole Bernier were voted "Best Looking".
Veda Saulsberry and Deangelo White were voted "Best Personality".
Luis Perez and Sarah Eyler were voted "Friendliest".
You just gotta love those cheerleaders!
Leading our class from left to right: Kiea Brown-treasurer, Kim Goodwin-vice president, Ruth Jones-president, and Sarah Eyler-secretary.
We reached spectacular heights in 1992 due to an explosive defensive line and versatile offensive players. For the first time in Marlin football history we made it to the District Championship playoffs!
Anthony Redifer and Mary Ann Veracruz were voted "Funniest" in our class.
Our girls basketball team was a force to be reckoned with. With a season record of 9 and 11, coach Conrad Parker commented, "The team improved tremendously and always gave outstanding effort."
Michelle Cherwa and Andrea Keever were crowned King and Queen of our homecoming court.
Felecia Corprew and Shawn Wilson were voted "Most Athletic".
Yasako Cooper and Andrew Keever were voted "Most Likely to Succeed".
Bernie Pritchard and Kim Goodwin were voted "Most Spirited" that year.
Cameron Stewart and Tanisha Cuffee were voted "Most Talkative".
Almost like a father to most of us, Mr. Morgan made a point of treating all his students as individuals.
Mr. Morgan walking the halls as he so often did.
Some school traditions never die, huh?
Who could forget Ruth Jones as she donned our Marlin Mascot costume?
The halls were often crowded that year with the addition of the 9th grade class to our school.
